Visualization of TINs
نویسنده
چکیده
Geographic information systems often represent terrains, or other height elds, by triangulated irregular networks (TINs). The visualization of TINs is therefore a task any GIS has to be able to perform. This survey paper discusses two aspects of this task: the hidden-surface removal problem, which is to determine which parts of the TIN are visible from a given view point, and the computation of data structures that allow the extraction of representations of the TIN at di erent levels of detail.

The Prognostic Value of Tumor-Infiltrating Neutrophils in Gastric Adenocarcinoma after Resection
BACKGROUND Several pieces of evidence indicate that tumor-infiltrating neutrophils (TINs) are correlated to tumor progression. In the current study, we explore the relationship between TINs and clinicopathological features of gastric adenocarcinoma patients. Furthermore, we investigated the prognostic value of TINs. PATIENTS AND METHODS The study was comprised of two groups, training group (1...
متن کاملMultiresolution Terrain Processing and Visualization with VARIANT
In this paper, we present VARIANT (VAriable Resolution Interactive ANalysis of Terrain), a system for processing and visualizing terrains represented through Triangulated Irregular Networks (TINs) at multiple resolutions. The main feature of VARIANT is the possibility of adapting resolution (i.e., the density of the TIN) locally and in a dynamic way, based on the current user needs. Thus, the u...
متن کاملReal Time Machine Vision System for Quality Assurance of Canned Tuna
We describe a PC-based real time machine vision system for the quality assurance of canned tuna at a tin rate over 1,000 tins per minute, allowing the inspection of the tin and its contents, with two main purposes: preventing defective tins from damaging the closure equipment or from reaching the market with a defective closure, and deviating from the production line tins with low quality conte...
متن کاملLaboratory evaluation of the 3-bowl system used for washing-up eating utensils in the field.
OBJECTIVE A 3-bowl system is used for washing-up eating utensils on many expeditions when running water is not available. The utensils are washed in the first bowl until they are visibly clean, rinsed in the second bowl, and disinfected in the third bowl. The objective of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of this system in reducing bacterial loads on contaminated utensils and to compare i...
متن کاملDynamic Isoline Extraction for Visualization of Streaming Data
Queries over streaming data offer the potential to provide timely information for modern database applications, such as sensor networks and web services. Isoline-based visualization of streaming data has the potential to be of great use in such applications. Dynamic (real-time) isoline extraction from the streaming data is needed in order to fully harvest that potential, allowing the users to s...
